You Can Make a Difference

Help Us Tell Stories That Matter

Award-winning Stageworks Theatre was founded in 1983 as a non-profit high quality professional theatre to be the community catalyst eradicating intolerance through performing arts and education.

As the longest-running professional theatre in Tampa, Stageworks presents critically acclaimed and award-winning plays seasonally on the main stage while also providing arts programs year-round for historically underserved youth while using the talents of local artists and teachers. All of which are led by Producing Artistic Director Karla Hartley.

HELP US AS WE STRIVE TO CREATE COMMUNITY

Our commitment to diversity and creating dynamic performance opportunities for communities and cultures that are traditionally underrepresented on the stage is part of what makes us the premiere theatre company in Tampa. We are tirelessly dedicated to empowering the voiceless.

Help Us as we Educate Those in Their Formative Years

Working with the public school system, Stageworks’ outreach programs provide underserved youth between the ages of 8 and 18 with exciting, interactive educational programs and workshops lead by professional community leaders, interns, and volunteers.

Main Stage Productions

Every year Stageworks Theatre located in Tampa’s Channel district professionally produces 7 shows. One Summer Encore presentation of an acclaimed production in one of the last 5 seasons and 6 Main Stage productions which bring timeless classics as well as new productions.

YOUTH OUTREACH AND EDUCATION

Stageworks Theatre has a long history of providing educational programs through the Public School System for youth ages 8 to 18. Our professional community leaders, interns, and volunteers bring their expertise in leading theater workshops and summer camps that entertain, educate, and ignite the human spirit.

Community Partners

Stageworks partners with Tampa Bay community nonprofit organizations to bring to life topics in highlighted in our productions that are relevant to our area. This is done through talk backs after our shows and other events open the door for honest discussions in the community and create solidarity before social challenges to promote and enrich our daily lives.
