Why Support Stageworks Theatre?

We tell stories that matter.

As Tampa’s longest running professional theatre, Stageworks Theatre has a 37 year history of bringing the finest professional theatre to the Tampa Bay area. We are an integral part of the cultural landscape in Tampa, bringing intellectual and emotionally challenging, socially relevant theatre to our area.

Our commitment to diversity and creating dynamic performance opportunities for communities and cultures that are traditionally underrepresented on the stage is part of what makes us the premiere theatre company in Tampa. We are tirelessly dedicated to empowering the voiceless in a society that is increasingly becoming fixated on affluence and materialism.

We strive to create community.

Theatre that serves as society’s institutional memory and cultural conscience.
Theatre that opens substantive conversations about race, ethnicity, morality and all other questions we, as a society, grapple with every day.
Theatre that entertains, educates and ignites the human spirit.
